Long Eaton Salvation Army Band

Like many Salvation Army centres, Long Eaton has a brass band which accompanies congregational singing during meetings and makes its own contribution to them through the presentation of devotional music.

The band also leads open air witness events including those arranged at Christmas and Easter by the Long Eaton churches fellowship. During the Christmas season small groups of players provide carols at local venues including superstores and homes for the elderly.

Concerts of religious music are given by request at churches, community halls and other Salvation Army centres. The band meets to rehearse on Friday evenings at the Salvation Army hall in New Street.

Long Eaton Songster Brigade

The songster brigade is a Salvation Army choir, singing in traditional four part harmony. It exists to support congregational singing and also presents the news of the gospel through its own vocal item in every meeting.

Like the band, the songster brigade is also involved in concert activities from time to time. Practices are held on alternate Thursday evenings at the Salvation Army Hall.

"May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
